The Redbrand prisoners volunteer information about the hideout in a bid for freedom. They tell the group that there is a trap and the crypt requires a secret password to enter.
Feeling tired and exhausted, the group takes their long rest. In the morning, they explore the rest of the hideout, finding more supplies in the cellar and storeroom/barracks. The prisoners show them the pit in the hallway and guide them to a secret entrance leading to the armoury and crypt. They find and release three captives, Mirna Dendrar and her two children Nars and Nilsa who were captured by the Redbrands. Mirna asks them if they had seen her husband.
Milo takes off his red cloak and suddenly the skeletons guarding the sarcophagus come to life. In the midst of the fight, the prisoners managed to spring out of their restraints and attempt to dash out.
However, it was to no avail and all enemies were defeated. Wishing to spare the pain of seeing her husband’s dead body, Ixir blindfolds the three and lead them outside. Mirna tells them that they live near the Sleeping Giant. They finish investigating the hideout and go find her.
Mirna is grateful to the group and tells them about hidden heirloom that her family left behind. They had escaped from Thundertree when she was a young girl when undead overran the town. In town, most of the group head to the stores to sell goods or collect their ordered goods. While Myrl sits by the Shrine of Luck and think about Redbrand #2, the acolyte finally manages to get someone to help her to seek out Agatha the banshee. She passes Myrl a silver comb to exchange with the banshee for the answer to the location of Bowgentle’s spellbook. Ixir brings the letter from the Black Spider to Sildar. In compensation for what they went through, Sildar awarded 4x the gold for information on Iarno. Ixir also takes the opportunity to question the leaving Kee-Kee about what the Bonesplitter clan seeks. He tells him that food and other trade supplies would be welcome.
The group discuss their options and decide they need more information from the Bonesplitters before they can make a bid to save Gundren. They convince Elmar Barthen, Quelline Alderleaf, and Linene Graywind to establish trade with the goblins. They return back to the inn after a long day of negotiation.
